What a rollercoaster of a week for your Coastal Tsunami! With 14 goals across three games, there was no shortage of excitement, big plays, and edge-of-your-seat hockey!
The Tsunami kicked off the week on the road in Richmond, taking on the Sockeyes. We saw goals from Tyson Ekstrom, who made his return to the lineup after an injury in the team’s first exhibition game, along with Max Wingrove and Ben Walker. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite enough to get the job done, and the Sockeyes came away with the win.
Two days later, the boys headed to Delta to take on the Ice Hawks for the first game of a weekend doubleheader, and what a game it was! Tait Harris, Ryan Heuser, Ben Walker, and Spencer Huth all found the back of the net, while Max Wingrove put on a show with a hat trick! Between the pipes, Parker Parrish had an incredible night, facing a whopping 48 shots! The Ice Hawks weren’t going down without a fight, turning up the pressure in the third period and nearly completing the comeback. But the Tsunami held on, skating away with a thrilling 7-6 victory!
The following night, the Ice Hawks made their way to Gibsons for a rematch, and both teams came ready to play! The hometown crowd was treated to another exciting game, with goals from Jacob Collins, Max Wingrove, Ryan Heuser, and Spencer Huth. It was a back-and-forth battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats as the Tsunami pushed for their second win of the weekend. Unfortunately, the boys couldn’t find the back of the net in the third, and the Ice Hawks got their revenge, taking home the win.
The good news? The Tsunami are staying Coastal for the rest of October! That means a much-deserved break from the ferries and plenty of opportunities for local fans to catch the action! Next weekend, the Tsunami welcome the Chilliwack Jets for a home doubleheader, and we’ve got two special nights planned!
